Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil

Recently Maxine and I have been enjoying wearing bold lip colours, and the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil (£17.50) is by far one of the best we've tried in terms of lasting power and colour payoff. Between us we have the shades Cruella, Red Square and Dolce Vita.

I would strongly suggest moisturising prior to application due to the lipstick showing up dry patches on your lips. However, this is one of the best matte lipsticks we have tried. Unlike other mattes they feel like a second skin on your lips, they are not at all cakey. They are extremely easy to apply and glide across your lips.

This lip pencil doesn't bleed like other lipsticks. It lasts for a long time without loss of colour, and the picture below was taken around 3 hours after application. As you can see from the swatches, the colours, especially the darker two (Cruella and Red Square) are very bold and true to colour.

Overall, I would definitely recommend these to anyone that is on the hunt for a gorgeous matte with excellent staying power. Anyone got any good mattes they would like to share?
